The cost to file an application is $20. This fee is used by the co-op to pay for the required credit check. We cannot process your application until we have received the application fee.
Once your application and $20 fee are received our staff will conduct a credit check — if there are any questions we will call you for clarification. All information is held in strictest confidence by the office.
You will be called to meet with two members of the membership committee for an interview; all members of the household age 16 and older must attend the interview.
The membership committee makes a recommendation to the Board of Directors. The board is responsible for accepting new members; their decision is made based on the Eligibility Criteria listed below. Please note the process can take several weeks.
Once your application is approved, your name will be placed on the waiting list according to the date your completed application was received by the Co-op office.
The waiting time for a unit is likely to be anywhere from a few months to several years.
The applicant’s household must show proof of financial responsibility and the ability to pay the market housing charge for the unit requested.
The applicant must show an interest in co-operatives and be willing to make the commitment to honour co-operative principles and participate on an ongoing basis in the workload of the Co-op.
The applicant must be planning to stay in the Co-op for a minimum of one year.
The applicant must indicate respect for other’s privacy and property.
The applicant must be willing to maintain their unit and contribute to maintaining the co-op common areas.
